16th Annual English Tea
Special thanks to Kym Sheerman for going above and
beyond to ensure that CRC's sell-out event had enough
volunteers. The English
Tea event would not have been a success without the extraordinary personal
efforts of Kym. Her sense of community service is an example to all, and
something we see time and again from the NCL Surf Cities
Chapter.
10th Annual Garden Tour and Plant Sale
Special thanks to Julie Walcott, Vicky Jans, and
Kathy Siemion for volunteering for the first time as garden docents. CRC
is hoping they agree to come back next year because they were so
great!

Thanks very much again for bringing
in all that food yesterday--that was indeed a WONDERFUL surprise! We
were talking about it again at CRC this morning--your NCL chapter never ceases
to amaze! I don't know if you noticed, but some of the clients who
receive food were intently watching you unload the bags and boxes
yesterday. They hear about the shortages, too, and I got a good share of
questions from them about who you were, if the food was for the Client Center,
etc. I actually had one woman come up to me after you left, and
she said, "Wow. They did all this?" Thought you'd like to know
that.
The food shortages create real anxiety among those who come
to CRC for help, so I can't tell say THANK YOU enough for your help. The
federal budget delays have literally put a kink in food distributions
nationwide, and increasing food costs at the same time have only worsened the
situation for food banks and distribution centers like CRC. Community
groups are literally helping to save the day right now. Please share
this thanks with the other members. We appreciate all that you do, not
only for CRC, but for the community in general.

A huge thank you to National Charity League for providing us
with so
much help for the Insect Festival. It has a very successful event,
due
in large part to the incredible volunteer support. NCL mother daughter/
teams are absolutely the best! Everything they do, they do well and make
it fun for all. My thanks to you for your efforts and to all who
participated.
Huge hugs to all,

THANK YOU for all your help in 2010!
To Our Supporters at National Charity League – Surf Cities Chapter:
I wanted to thank you for a year
of critical NCL support of Community Resource Center in 2010. In
addition to the routine program support of Social Services (Client
Center, Carol’s House, Food Drives, and more), NCL volunteers also
helped at every major charity event we organized.
Although CRC functioned without a
full-time volunteer coordinator last year, you stepped up and filled in
gaps so well that any guests at our events would never have known this.
NCL volunteers were an especially
remarkable and critical presence at our events last year. Service at
our English Tea, hosting at our Garden Tour, assisting at our Gala,
creating a memorable experience for families and children on Santa’s
Train, and helping us to serve a stunning 6,400+ individuals in need at
Holiday Baskets—NCL volunteers were at our side throughout the year.
Thank you for all that you did
and continue to do. Thank you for helping CRC to continue providing
victims of domestic violence and families in need with safety,
stability, and a path to self-sufficiency. Thank you for promoting the
value of community service, and for being such a valued partner.
Your professionalism, dedication,
and passion are an inspiration to our agency, and a great example to
others. We hope to have NCL – Surf Cities support again this year—you’re
wonderful! Thank you again!
Sincerely,
